The Care & Raising of Characters

Character development questionnaires seem to mostly come in two flavors:

1. Exhaustive lists of minute details that may or may not be relevant or useful when it comes time to play or write the character.
2. Hard-hitting questions about deep emotional wounds and huge chunks of character arcs that ask you to make big decisions about the character right now.

This eleven page character development tool falls between those two extremes. The questions are thought-provoking without requiring you to either come up with a character's entire core being all at once or already have a nearly-complete mental image of them, and give you concrete details to sink your teeth into. They're setting and genre agnostic, and, though primarily intended for writers, will also be useful for creating roleplay characters
